Something’s been entering my newsfeed on Facebook far too often. Something that shouldn’t be there. Something that should not be a debate. Something that should not need to be defended.
I’m ashamed. I’m ashamed of you America. I’m ashamed of you Christian’s; the ones who support it, I’m ashamed of you.
What is this thing I speak of?
Well, I’m convinced you, too, would be against it if you truly watched the procedure, or read the description of how it’s done…if you ever spoke with one who did it, or heard the horror stories of the ones that went wrong.
Common supporting statements that I hear people who are pro-choice say:
- A woman who is raped and becomes pregnant should have the CHOICE to abort her rapists child:
Can I weigh in on this Samantha Yvonne? As someone who was impregnated as a result of rape and then forced against my will to have an abortion, I totally agree with you. It is not any more empowering to know that a child was murdered as a way to make the crime committed against me less visible. Though that child would have been a (maybe painful) reminder of the rape, I have many rights available to me as a woman that would have given him (yes, it was late-term) a safe home away from the abuse that I was exposed to. I actually carry additional wounding over the pain that was done to him on top of my personal wounding and trauma. In the justice system of this nation personal liberties are not defendable motives for murder EXCEPT in cases regarding abortion. There is something very wrong with that. Two wrongs never result in right.
This just completely explains itself. I don’t even NEED to continue this point. But I will. Because some don’t understand. This is a young woman I know, who shared a piece of her story with me supporting my view AGAINST pro-choice. Unless YOU were raped and impregnated, you have zero weigh in on this point. You have no valid point in this. If YOU were, however, raped and impregnated, and did give birth and keep the child and it did ruin your life, then all I have to say to you is GOD BLESS YOUR HEART! Seriously, you had a ministry inside your own home you were unaware of. You birthed a child that society would have applauded you to abort, and you gave that life a chance at Gods will!
- It’s an embryo/fetus it has no rights until its first breath.
“Stiff penalties may be imposed for violations of the Endangered Species Act. Criminal activities may be punished with fines up to $50,000 and/or one year imprisonment for crimes involving endangered species, and $25,000 and/or six months imprisonment for crimes involving threatened species.”

Bet you didn’t even read the list. This isn’t just for endangered species, this is also for species threatened to be endangered. Numbers declining. But these things, which is a very short list in comparison to how many are actually on the list, plants and animals; they have more protection and rights than a human who has yet to take its first breath of air.
How does that even seem sane to you?

Just some of the people who have been convicted on double homicide, killing the mother and unborn child. Amazing how that unborn child who has no rights, has the right to add conviction to a mans sentence.
Hmmmm. Sane America? I think not.
- (My favorite so far) The child is better off than being born into a family that doesn’t want it or can’t take care of it.
Obvious reply: Adoption.
But let’s not be obvious, that obviously doesn’t help. 🙄

I could go on. And on. And on. All these people had rough childhoods. Some were unwanted. Some were neglected. Some were abandoned. Some were abused. But each made a dent in the world. And if you believe in the Word of God at all, you would know that God ALWAYS uses the least of us! He uses the ones no one wants. The cast aways. The forgotten. Esau and Jacob are great examples of that. And many many others!
This just isn’t even a valid excuse for abortion.
- It’s the woman’s choice. It’s her body.
Really? Seriously? So you truly believe this statement?? I’m really curious if you just pull this out of your butt cheek or if you truly believe this!?
Conjoined twins are two separate people, one body, yet split halves. One controls the other half (depending on conjoining place).
But a baby, that is a separate body and separate human.
No. It’s not your body, at least the baby isn’t. The fact you even stoop this low to try and conjure up some kind of justifying excuse is appalling.
Husband and wife become One when united in marriage under Christ. Still two separate bodies. Two separate people.
The “embryo” or “fetus” you claim that is your body doesn’t even have the same DNA as you, or the same fingerprints even before it’s first breath. It has a separate heart rate…it shares PART of your DNA and womb space, that’s it. It’s not you. It’s a human.
Is it too much work for you to get a stretch mark or two? Is that the issue? The reason you won’t carry it to full term to bless a barren woman with the gift of life to raise? Or you’re afraid once it’s born you may actually love it and want it? It’s much easier to behead, disembody, burn, murder the child instead of getting ‘fat’? Truly, what is it that’s too much work to adopt the child out? It would cost you nothing if you did it legally. Adoptive parents pay the cost. So what is it?
And let me tell you, those of you ‘christians’ who support the “choice” but not the act, you’re hypocrites and you are held just as responsible.
Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart. -Jeremiah 1:5
Even before I was born, God had chosen me to be His. —Galatians 1:15
For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb… Your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to be. —Psalm 139:13, 16
Your hands shaped me and made me… Did You not clothe me with skin and flesh and knit me together with bones and sinews? You gave me life. —Job 10:8-12
Because man is made in God’s own image (Genesis 1:27), each life is of great value to God: Children are a gift from God. —Psalm 127:3
God, the giver of life, commands us not to take the life of an innocent person: Do not shed innocent blood. —Jeremiah 7:6
Cursed is the man who accepts a bribe to kill an innocent person —Deuteronomy 27:25
You shall not murder. —Exodus 20:13
If men who are fighting hit a pregnant woman, and she gives birth prematurely, but there is no serious injury, the offender must be fined …if there is serious injury, you are to take life for life. —Exodus 21:22,23
For those of you that have aborted and feel the weight of your choice, you are not a bad person. You can be forgiven. There’s always grace. Always mercy. Speak up. Tell the world the repercussions of your choice and the effect it had on you emotionally and spiritually. Be the voice for your unborn baby!
I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live —Deuteronomy 30:19
